ACCESSIBILITY

The Parlor Room Collective wants our venues to be welcoming to as many people as possible. Our buildings are historic and have real limitations, but we're committed to clear information, practical accommodations, and respectful communication.

For accessibility questions or requests: accessibility@parlorroom.org | (413) 200-0425

When possible, please reach out 3–5 days before the show. Day-of requests are always welcome and our staff will do what they can.

ACCESSIBILITY REQUESTS

Reach out before your visit when you can. It helps to include:

  • the show or event you're attending

  • the name on your ticket order

  • what you need, i.e., accessible seating, step-free entry, help avoiding a long wait, ASL interpretation, companion seating, or something else

  • the best way to reach you

We review requests individually and will let you know what we can arrange. Many accommodations can be handled day-of. Some — like ASL interpretation — may need more lead time and outside coordination. We can't guarantee every request, but we'll make every reasonable effort.

If you need ASL interpretation, captioning, or another communication access accommodation, please contact accessibility@parlorroom.org.

SERVICE ANIMALS

Service animals are welcome at PRCO venues. Pets and emotional support animals that are not trained service animals are not permitted inside the venue.

MEDICAL, SENSORY, OR OTHER ACCESS NEEDS

If you have a medical, sensory, mobility, or other access need that may impact your visit, please contact us in advance when possible. Examples include:

  • needing a lower-stimulation place to pause

  • needing to avoid stairs or sit while waiting

  • needing seating near an exit

  • needing help understanding the seating layout before buying tickets

We cannot guarantee every request can be met for every show, but we will listen, plan with you, and do what we can.

DAY-OF HELP

If you need assistance when you arrive, please speak with box office or floor staff. If something is not working for you during an event, let us know as soon as possible. We would much rather help in the moment than hear afterward that an access issue got in the way of your experience.

IRON HORSE ACCESSIBILITY

The bar area entrance is at street level. The main floor includes the bar, box office, restrooms, and accessible seating.

First-floor restrooms include a gender-neutral, wheelchair-accessible stall, plus additional stalls and urinals.

Accessible seating is available on the first floor.

The mezzanine/balcony is not currently wheelchair accessible. If you need accessible seating, contact us in advance when possible or check in with staff when you arrive

PARLOR ROOM ACCESSIBILITY

The front entrance has four stairs with a handrail. A back entrance with a 6-inch step is available on request, and ramps are available if needed. If you have accessibility needs, let us know in advance so we can help plan the best options for you.

Can minors attend events without a parent or guardian?

Yes—The Parlor Room Collective welcomes young people to engage with our open mics, workshops, and community programming. However, we have age-specific guidelines in place to ensure safety and comply with legal responsibilities:

Ages 16–17

Minors aged 16 or 17 may attend events without a parent or guardian as long as they:

  • Check in at the box office when they arrive.

  • Provide an emergency contact for a parent or guardian.

  • Follow our Code of Conduct, which includes:

    • No alcohol, drugs, or inappropriate behavior.

    • Treating staff, artists, and other guests with respect.

    • Asking for help if they ever feel unsafe.

If attending regularly, we ask that they have a signed permission slip on file. One-time attendance may be approved with an email or verbal confirmation from a parent/guardian at the box office or sent to info@parlorroom.org.

Under Age 16

Minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or designated adult. Exceptions may be made if:

  • We receive written permission from a parent or guardian in advance.

  • Emergency contact information is provided.

  • A staff member has pre-approved their unaccompanied attendance.

Additional Notes

PRCO staff are not responsible for supervising minors while on premises.
Some events may include content or audiences that aren’t specifically tailored to younger attendees.
This policy may be updated based on insurance guidance or specific event requirements.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at
